Mohammad Amin Latify was born in Tehran, Iran, in 1980. He is the assistant professor of Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Isfahan University of Technology. Dr. Latify received the B. S. from Isfahan University of Technology, Isfahan, Iran, in 2002 in Electrical Engineering. He also recieved, the M. S. from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Mashhad, Iran in 2005, and the PhD from Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran, Iran in 2012, in Electrical Engineering with honors. His research interests are in electricity markets and economics, smart grids, power system operation and planning and optimization theory applications.
Previously, Dr. Latify has served as head of the department of "ELectricity Market Mechanisms Design and Development" and the department of "Electricity Market Reulation and Oversight" in "Office of Iran Electricity Market Regulatory Board" in which, he has gained several years of industrial and regulation experiences. At Office of IEMRB, he was engaged in regulatiuon and research in the areas of market power monitoring, generation asset privatization, generation adequacy assurance, transmission open access, electricity market operation, distribution sytem pricing, electricity exchange and spot market coordination and etc.
