Mohammad Amin Latify is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), where he also serves as the Vice-Dean of Research. From November 2016 to January 2021, he was the head of the Power Group within the department. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE. His research interests include electricity markets and economics, smart grids, power system operation and planning, and the application of optimization theory in power systems.
Before his academic tenure, he served as the head of the department of "Electricity Market Mechanisms Design and Development" and the department of "Electricity Market Regulation and Oversight" at the "Office of Iran Electricity Market Regulatory Board" in which he has gained several years of industrial and regulation experiences. At the Office of IEMRB, he was engaged in regulation and research in the areas of market power monitoring, generation asset privatization, generation adequacy assurance, transmission open access, electricity market operation, distribution system pricing, electricity exchange, and spot market coordination and etc.
